Varsity Baseball Goes Down On Final Play Against Melvindale

It came down to the last play, but Trenton Trojans Varsity was on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Melvindale on Wednesday. The game was tied at six with Melvindale batting in the bottom of the seventh when Ochoa singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

In the first inning, Trenton Trojans Varsity got their offense started when Robert Barker singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Ochoa led the Melvindale to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Rudy and Speer entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Evan Mercure took the loss for Trenton Trojans Varsity. He allowed two hits and three runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking zero.

Max Ellis started the game for Trenton Trojans Varsity. He allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out two and walking zero Harley started the game for Melvindale. He went three innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out one and walking zero

Trenton Trojans Varsity scattered ten hits in the game. Brandon BrushaberJay Solano, and Ellis all managed multiple hits for Trenton Trojans VarsityBrushaber went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Trenton Trojans Varsity in hits.

Melvindale tallied seven hits in the game. Speer and Harley all collected multiple hits for Melvindale. Speer led Melvindale with three hits in three at bats.
