Trenton Trojans Varsity Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Grosse Ile

Trenton Trojans Varsity took the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Grosse Ile on Friday. The game was tied at two with Trenton Trojans Varsity batting in the top of the sixth when Richardo Madrigal‘s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Trenton Trojans Varsity.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Trenton Trojans Varsity pitchers struck out four, while Madrigal sat down four.

Trenton Trojans Varsity fired up the offense in the second inning, when Kyle Richey doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Grosse Ile tied things up at two when Nate Brown singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Richey took the win for Trenton Trojans Varsity. He allowed four hits and two runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Jacob Kowalski threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Kowalski recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Trenton Trojans Varsity.

Madrigal took the loss for Grosse Ile. He surrendered three runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out four.
