The JV Trojans had a strong night Thursday, as they defeated the Crestwood Chargers 29-8. After forcing a 3 and out, the Trojans struck first when QB Ty Norgren connected on a long pass to Jason Marshall for a TD. Norgren found Josh Hall on a short pass for the 2 point conversion to give Trenton an 8-0 lead. On the next drive, the defense came up big. Crestwood fumbled the ball, and Peyton Culpepper scooped and scored a TD. After a failed conversion attempt, the Trojans led 14-0. Trenton got the ball back quickly, and this time Dominick Calloway rushed for another Trojans TD. Norgren connected with Matt Cheetam for the 2 point conversion to extend the lead to 22-0 before halftime. In the second half, the Trojans capitalized on their first drive when Norgren connected with Cheetam for a TD. Cristo Likiardopoulos kicked the PAT to make the score 29-0. The offensive line played a great game (Michael Alexander, Nik Craft, Josh DeChane, Max Rickman, Brady Kusak, Logan Michels and Nolan Diroff). Peyton Culpepper had an excellent rushing performance. Joaquin Maldonado and Norgren also had strong rushing performances. The Trojans played strong defense all night. Besides his scoop and score, Peyton Culpepper brought his pads all night. He had several tackles. Jason Marshall had an interception. Other players that contributed defensively were Max Rickman, Bowen Wendland, Logan Michels, Nik Craft, Noah Bolton and Josh DeChane. Cristo Likiardopoulos provided strong kicking all night. The JV Trojans (5-2) will take on the Woodhaven Warriors next Thursday. The game is at Woodhaven High School at 6pm. Go Blue!
