The JV Trojans finished their season in style with a big win over the Railsplitters of Lincoln Park. After forcing a 3 and out, the Trojans marched down the field on a long drive that was capped off by a rushing TD from QB Ty Norgren. After a failed conversion attempt, Trenton led 6-0. On the following kickoff, the Trojans forced a fumble which was recovered by Dominick Calloway. Trenton capitalized, as Norgren connected with Jason Marshall for a TD. Norgren found Joaquin Maldonado in the back of the end zone on the 2 point conversion attempt extending the lead to 14-0 early. Lincoln Park was forced to punt again on the next drive, and once again, the Trojans capitalized. R.L. Blacksher capped off the drive with a rushing TD. Andrew Block punched in the 2 point conversion attempt making the score 22-0. Lincoln Park was forced to punt yet again and pinned Trenton deep in their own territory. After moving the ball out near midfield, Norgren connected with Josh Hall who evaded a few tacklers and took it to the house for another Trenton TD. Alex Pawlik kicked the PAT making the score 29-0. The Trojans got the ball back with around 2 minutes until halftime, and they took advantage of it. Norgren threw the ball in front of Marshall, and he speared it with a highlight reel one handed grab for another Trenton TD. Pawlik kicked the PAT making the score 36-0 at halftime. Trenton received the ball in the 2nd half, and on their 2nd play from scrimmage, Norgren hit Austin Toth on a screen pass that he took 60+ yards for a TD. Pawlik kicked the PAT making the score 43-0. Other players that contributed offensively were Peyton Culpepper, Zach Berry, Damien Syska, Logan Stefanik and Michael Drabczyk. The Trojan defense was anchored by strong performances from Josh Dechane, Peyton Culpepper, Bowen Wendland and Hunter Bialkowski. Michael Drabczyk had an interception as well. The JV Trojans finished the season 6-3, and they showed improvement along the way. I would like to take a moment to thank all of the JV coaches, players and parents for a great season. A special thanks to Trina Rooney for serving as our trainer over the course of the year. This is a great group of kids. They showed guts and determination all season, even in the face of adversity. I look forward to coaching all of them on Thursday and Friday nights next year. The off-season grind starts today. Go Blue!
