JV: The first half was a back and forth affair, tied 11 after one quarter and only 1 point separated the teams at the half time break. Our shooting went cold in the third quarter and Carlson stepped out to a small lead. We worked hard in the fourth to cut the deficit, but still fell to the Marauders, 25 - 30. We did a good job limiting our turnovers, rebounded well, and had our best FT shooting game of the season. JV: The Trojans travelled to Wyandotte to take on the Bears. We kept it close for 3 quarters, only trailing by 4. But, in the 4th quarter, the fouls and turnover mounted, along with some missed fast breaks and put backs, and the deficit ballooned to 11. At the final buzzer, we lost 25 -36. Congratulations to the Boys swim and dive team for their victory over Southgate Anderson on 1/14/25 A special congratulations is in order to Freshman diver, Tyler Clements. His score of 173.65 was not only a personal best, but it was enough for Tyler to earn his place on the record board as the new 6-dive record holder at the Southgate pool!

Groves Team Tournament: Wrestling 1/11/25

Trenton wrestling finished in 2nd place on Saturday. Won against Lutheran North 38-32, Groves B 59-15, Grosse Ile 42-27, Groves Bandit Team 59-12 and lost to Groves 45-33. The team is 19-12 on the year. Winners were Brock Cullpepper-215 and Parker Saches-175 5-0, Kevin Fritz-120 4-0, Lucas Totten- 215 3-0, Luke Heffinger-165 4-1, Blake Scrimenti-132 4-1 and Cole Scrimenti-126 4-1 and Elijah Benskey-106 3-2. We wrestle at Wyandotte on Wednesday at 5:00 against Edsel Ford and Southgate. Also, two wrestled for the bandit team Saturday. Dane Heffinger-120 went 4-1 and Brody Herrell-126 went 3-1. Good job boys!

The Trojans started the game with a stingy defense, accurate shooting, and we protected the ball well, building an 11 point lead. Allen Park started to chip away at the lead, but we still held onto a 5 point lead at half. Out of the break, we came out flat, missing shots, throwing errant passes, and faltering on our defensive assignments. We never found our groove again, and after being outscored 9 - 23 in the second half, we fell by a score of 25 - 34. The Trojans welcomed in the New Year with a convincing win over Grosse Ile. After 3 quarters, we trailed by 4 points, but we exploded for 17 points in the fourth quarter while our defense shut down the Red Devils, limiting them to just 3 points, and we closed out the game with a 36 - 26 victory. We earned the win by limiting our TOs and shooting well from the FT line. Trenton had a tough night losing to Allen Park 56-21 and Carlson. Brock Culpepper-215 went 2-0 and is 23-1 on the year. Blake Scrimenti-132, James Harrison-138 and Luke Heffinger-165 all went 1-1. We Lost some tough matches last night. Trenton is at Groves High School starting at 9:00am this Saturday.

Trenton boys placed 4th out of 10 teams losing 42-38 to U of D Jesuit for 3rd place. Trenton went 3-2 on the day beating Canton 54-26, Erie Mason 76-6 and Redford Union 45-26. Then lost to the Livonia Franklin 55-22. Cole Scrimenti-126 and Brock Culpepper-215 went 5-0. Blake Scrimenti-138 went 4-1, Carter Casey-190 went 3-1, Elijah Benskey-106 and Luke Heffinger-165 went 3-2. Alex LaRonde- 215 went 2-0. Dane Heffinger-120 and Brody Herrell-132 went 2-1. We wrestle at Allen Park on Wednesday 1-8-2025 at 5:00pm and at Groves for a team tournament Saturday 1-11-2025 starting at 9:00am. We're working harder and getting better. Girls wrestling at Waterford Kettering Evelyn Rennie-10 100lbs won her second tournament of the year at the Tri-County with a fall in the finals. Great Job Evelyn!

Because of the size of the team this season, all the boys were able to be entered into the meet. The AMS Boy Swim and Dive Team finished second (2nd) in the league meet, tied with Woodhaven Brownstown. All the boys competing in the meet improved their times and helped the team to its success at the league meet. The following boys were the medal earners at the meet.
