More About FINAL REMINDER: THS Spring Sports Starting InformationDear Parents/Student-Athletes, I wanted to send all of you a brief email outlining the upcoming tryout process (3/10-3/12). First and foremost, your son must have a physical on file to try out. There is a tutorial at the bottom of this email outlining how that physical needs to be uploaded to Big Teams. We have made a slight change to the times that were previously posted. Sophomores will now try out, with the SR/JR's, right after school. We have 23 Freshmen trying out, so we had to adjust our normal format. All the HS coaches will be at both tryouts during the 3 days. We do this to ensure we get as many eyes as possible on the players during the tryout process. Freshman will be evaluated the same as the SR/JR/SO's, so a FR can also make JV, or Varsity, out of the Freshman tryout slot. All the coaches are involved in selecting the teams. When selecting the appropriate level for your son to play on, we look at ski
More About High School Baseball Tryouts: Detailed Information from the Coaching StaffThe Trojans travelled to Edsel Ford for the season finale and walked away with a 47 - 30 victory, finishing the season with an overall record of 11 - 11 and a Downriver League record of 9 - 7. It was a complete team game vs EF, with 9 of 10 girls scoring and all contributing to the win. We jumped out early and kept up the pace for the entire 32 minutes. We had another strong statistical game, we shot 30% from the field, grabbed 47 rebounds, and limited our turnovers to only 17! However, the most important stat was our 13 assists, demonstrating the unselfishness that allowed 9 different players to score in the game. More About Girls JV Basketball: 2/27/25The Trojans completed the season sweep vs Lincoln Park with a lopsided 46 - 6 victory, to improve their record to 10 - 11. Although we did not have statistics from the entire game, this was one of our best games of the season. We shot 44% from the field (50% 3FG), and a fantastic 71% from the FT line! We corralled 29 rebounds and had a season high 8 assists, while also having a season low of only 12 turnovers. Also, 8 of 10 girls scored in the game, making this a complete team victory. More About Spring Sports Starting InformationIt was Daddy Daughter Date Night when the Trojans travelled to Huron to take on the Chiefs for the second edition of the Hebda vs Hebda rivalry game. From the opening tip, the game was all you could ask for. The lead changed hands too many times to count, and the atmosphere was electric. Unfortunately, in the end, the Trojans fell by a score of 50 - 54. Statistically, we played well enough to win, but we had some untimely fouls and turnovers, which ultimately proved costly. This was our highest scoring game of the season, but we still could not pull out the victory. More About Girls SoccerTrenton went to Carlson, looking to turn the table on the Marauders, but came up short, 23 - 31. The first half was back and forth. Carlson led after 1 quarter and Trenton led at the half. Unfortunately, we came out of the break ice cold and we were shut out in the 3rd quarter. We finally sank some shots in the final quarter, but we could not overcome the hole we dug. In total, we rebounded well, limited turnovers, and shot well from the FT line, but from the field, we shot poorly and this was our ultimate demise. More About JV Girls Basketball: 2/20/25The Trojans came alive in the second half, lifted by 12 points from Olivia in the 3rd quarter, to defeat the Bears, 40 - 34. The girls were a bit slow in the first half, with too many turnovers and some missed defensive assignments. Wyandotte took a 7-point lead into halftime. We came out of the break with a renewed focus and intensity, hit multiple three pointers, sank several layups, made nice passes, and limited our turnovers. As a result, we outscored Wyandotte by 13 points in the second half for this exciting come from behind victory to even our record at 9 - 9.---------------------------- Liliana: 3 pts, 5 rebsOlivia: 17 pts, 6 rebs, 1asst, 1 def, 4 stls, 1 blkQuinn: 3 rebsAddison: 6 pts, 8 rebs, 1 asst, 4 stls, 1 blkBrooke: 2 pts, 3 rebs, 1 blkGreta: 3 pts, 2 rebs, 1 asst, 1 blkKayla: 2 pts, 1 reb, 2 assts, 1 blkMaria: 7 pts, 10 rebs, 1 stl, 3 blksMillie: 3 rebs, 1 def
