Trojans Knockoff D1 #9 Zeeland East, 12-2!

Zach Hitchcock collected 3 hits in 3 AB’s, as Trenton defeated the Zeeland East Chix 12-2 on Friday. Hitchcock singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, and singled in the 6th.

Trenton opened the scoring in the B1 thanks to two singles. Trenton got on the board, first, when Hitchcock singled, scoring Josh Pippin. 

Trenton added to their early lead in the B2 after Zeeland East committed an error, Hitchcock singled, and the Trojans scored on a passed ball, each scoring 1 run.

Joel Mator earned the win for Trenton. The southpaw surrendered 4 hits and 2 runs (1 earned) over 6 innings, striking out 6 and walking 3. Trevor Raade took the loss for the Chix. The left-handed pitcher went 3.2 innings, surrendering 8 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits, striking out 4 and walking 2.

Trenton amassed 11 hits in the game. Zach LaMay and Josh Pippin each collected multiple hits for Trenton. Hitchcock stole 3 out of the 4 stolen bases Trenton had on the day. Trenton turned one double play in T6 to end the inning.

Noah Dewitt, Brenston Brown, Charlie Lacny, and Quincy Thome each collected one hit for Zeeland East. Dewitt and JJ Salas each drove in 1 run for the Chix.
