Edsel Ford Beats Trenton 4-3 on Walk-Off 2-Run HR in the Bottom of the 7th!

A walk-off left Trenton on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Edsel Ford on Wednesday. Edsel Ford was down 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th, with 2 outs, when Birchenough homered to left field, scoring 2 runs.

Edsel Ford got on the board in the 2nd inning after Murray homered to center field, scoring 2 runs.

Ashton Rooney hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Trenton tie the game at 2-2 in the T3.

A sacrifice bunt by Davis Gray gave Trenton the lead, 3-2, in the T4.

Ian Manness earned the win for Edsel Ford. The starting pitcher allowed 4 hits and 3 runs (0 earned) over 7 innings, striking out 14 and walking none. Rooney took the loss for the Trojans. The righty went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, striking out 6 and walking 2.

Zach DeChane, Rooney, Grayson Bender, and Carson Boike each collected 1 hit for Trenton.  Rooney and Gray each drove in 1 run for Trenton. DeChane stole 2 bases. Trenton collected 5 stolen bases in the game.

Murray and Birchenough each had 2-run HR’s, earning each 2 RBI’s. Maness went 2 for 3 at the plate for the Thunderbirds.
