Both teams were strong on the hill on Wednesday, but Trenton defeated Taylor, 3-0. Caleb Kidd started the game for the Trojans and recorded all 21 outs.
Davis Gray, Carson Boike, and Zach Lamay combined for 5 of the team’s hits from the bottom of the Trenton lineup. Each scored 1 run and had 1 RBI.
Trenton got on the board in the B1 after Kidd singled, scoring Ashton Rooney.
Trenton added 1 run in the B2 when Boike singled extending the lead to 2-0.
Kidd earned the win for Trenton. The lefty gave up 3 hits and 0 runs over 7 innings, striking out 8 and walking 2. Cannon led things off on the mound for the Griffins. The starting pitcher surrendered 8 hits and 3 runs (1 earned) over 5.2 innings, striking out 8 and walking 2.
Boike and LaMay were a force together in the lineup, as both collected 2 hits for Trenton. Boike, Kidd, and Zach Hitchcock each drove in 1 run for Trenton. The Trojans turned one double play in the game. Trenton didn’t commit a single error in the field. LaMay had the most chances in the field with 10.
