Ashton Rooney’s No-Hitter Powers Trenton Over Riverview Gabriel Richard, 5-1

Trenton was triumphant over Riverview Gabriel Richard 5-1 on Saturday.

Trenton got on the board first in the B2 after Zach LaMay drew a walk, scoring a run.

Trenton committed an error, which helped Richard tied the game at 1-1 in the T4.

Trenton retook the lead in the B4. Carson Boike singled scoring one run, giving the Trojans the 2-1 lead.

Ashton Rooney earned the win for Trenton. He gave up no hits and one run over 7 innings, striking out 7 and walking 3. Aidan Chisek took the loss for Riverview. The lefty went 2 innings, giving up 3 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits, striking out 3 and walking none. Jake Szechowski stepped on the mound first for Richard. The starting pitcher allowed 2 hits and 2 runs over 4 innings, striking out 2 and walking 5.

Rooney provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Trenton with 2 RBI’s. He went 1 for 3 in the game. Number nine hitter, Carson Boike, showed depth for Trenton leading them with 2 hits in 2 AB’s. Trenton ran wild on the bases with 6 stolen bases.
