Big 2nd Inning Leads Trenton Past Muskegon Oakridge, 11-2

Trenton defeated Oakridge 11-2 on Saturday thanks in part to 8 runs in the 2nd inning. 6 of the runs were scored before Trenton earned an out. Grayson Bender homered to left field, scoring 3 runs, Brennan Gulliver singled, scoring 2 runs, Caleb Kidd hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Easton Tinsley doubled, scoring 2 runs.

Oakridge got on the board in the 1st after Zac Cribbins scored after tagging up.

Ashton Rooney led things off on the bump for the Trojans. The starting pitcher allowed 6 hits and 2 runs over 6 innings, striking out 8 and walking none.

Trenton collected 11 hits in the game. Josh Pippin, Bender, Carson Boike, and Gulliver each collected 2 hits for the Trojans. Gulliver led Trenton with 3 RBI’s. The infielder went 2 for 4 on the day. Zach DeChane stole two bases. Trenton stole 5 bases in the game.

Evan Miller, Michael Wambargh, Cribbins, Evan Josza, Julian Pirmmer, and #22 each collected hits for the Eagles. Miller and Wambargh were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in 1 run for Oakridge. Oakridge turned one double play in the game. Oakridge also didn’t commit any errors. Chase Dutton made the most plays with 3.
