Caleb Kidd Leads Trenton Past Grosse Ile, 7-0, in District Semi-Final

Caleb Kidd struck out 11 batters on Saturday, as the southpaw led Trenton past Grosse Ile, 7-0. Kidd surrendered 6 hits and 0 runs over 6 innings while walking none.

Trenton jumped out to the lead in the B1 after Zach DeChane doubled, scoring 2 runs, and a steal of home scored one run.

Trenton added one run in the B3 on DeChane’s sacrifice fly, making the score 4-0.

Nolan McGowan took the loss for Grosse Ile. The righty went 4 innings, surrendering 4 runs on 4 hits, striking out 3 and walking 3. Talon Vanhovel pitched one inning of scoreless ball of Trenton in relief. The right gave up 0 hits, striking out 1 and walking none.

DeChane drove the middle of the Trenton lineup, leading the Trojans with 3 RBI’s. He went 1 for 1 on the day. Zack Hitchcock went 2 for 3 to lead the Trojans in hits. Trenton was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit any errors. Zach LaMay had 12 chances from the catcher position.

Caleb Jones and Mark Roman were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected 2 hits for Grosse Ile out of the 3 and 4 slots.
