Trenton Wins Regional Title In Epic Fashion On Joel Mator’s Face-Off Single

It came down to the wire on Saturday, as Trenton Trojans Varsity grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 2-1, over Adrian Varsity Maples. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the ninth when Joel Mator doubled, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Trenton Trojans Varsity pitchers struck out six, while Adrian Varsity Maples sat down six.
Trenton Trojans Varsity were the first to get on the board in the sixth when Ashton Rooney singled, scoring one run.
DJ Ott stole home, which helped Adrian Varsity Maples tie the game at one in the top of the seventh.
Mator earned the win for Trenton Trojans Varsity. The lefty surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none. Caleb Kidd stepped on the bump first for Trenton Trojans Varsity. The lefty surrendered two hits and one run over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five. Sean Parker stepped on the bump first for Adrian Varsity Maples. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and two runs over eight and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking none.
Josh Pippin and Zach DeChane each collected two hits for Trenton Trojans Varsity. Mator and Rooney each drove in one run for Trenton Trojans Varsity. Trenton Trojans Varsity were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Grayson Bender made the most plays with 13.
Julius Robichaud and Ott each collected one hit for Adrian Varsity Maples. Adrian Varsity Maples turned one double play in the game.
