Trenton Trojans Varsity fell to Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers 4-3 on Friday at Kobs Field on the final play of the game. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the eighth when Gavin Darling singled, scoring one run.

Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers got on the board in the first inning after Darling hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Luke Dupuis walked, and Grant Garman stole home, each scoring one run.

Trenton Trojans Varsity tied the game up in the top of the fifth thanks to two singles. Trenton Trojans Varsity tied the game at three on a single by Carson Boike.

Isaac Sturgess earned the win for Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers. The reliever surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Joel Mator took the loss for Trenton Trojans Varsity. The reliever went three and one-third innings, surrendering one run on three hits, striking out five and walking five. Caleb Kidd stepped on the hill first for Trenton Trojans Varsity. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Garman began the game for Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out 10 and walking one.

Boike seized on their opportunities, leading Trenton Trojans Varsity with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Kidd led Trenton Trojans Varsity with two hits in four at bats.

Darling drove the middle of the lineup, leading Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Garman led Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers with three hits in five at bats. Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Dupuis and Fischer Hendershot led the team with two bases on balls each. Powers Catholic Varsity Chargers didn’t commit a single error in the field. Nic Stimac had the most chances in the field with 12.
